NLP Specialist

NLP Specialists tackle the unique challenges of building language AI for the EU's multilingual, multi-jurisdictional market. You will fine-tune language models for domain-specific tasks, build named entity recognition systems for medical or legal terminology, develop cross-lingual information extraction pipelines, and evaluate language model performance across EU languages — including lower-resource languages often ignored by US-centric AI companies. Projects include multilingual clinical NLP for EU hospital networks, legal document analysis spanning 27 jurisdictions, and EU-funded research advancing European language technology. Your work directly addresses the EU's strategic goal of sovereign AI capabilities in all official languages.

Fine-tune language models for domain-specific tasks
Build named entity recognition for medical or legal terminology
Develop cross-lingual information extraction pipelines
Evaluate model performance across EU languages, including low-resource ones
Contribute to EU-funded European language technology research

Requirements

MSc or PhD with focus on NLP or computational linguistics
Experience with transformer architectures and language model fine-tuning
Demonstrated work with multilingual NLP or low-resource languages
Knowledge of domain-specific NLP (medical, legal, or financial text)
Native fluency in at least one EU language plus working English
